A Transport Coordinator is responsible for coordinating vehicles, drivers, routes, deliveries, and transportation schedules to ensure smooth and timely movement of goods or personnel. The role involves vehicle tracking, documentation, driver coordination, maintenance follow-up, and transportation reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily vehicle and transportation schedules.

Assign vehicles and drivers according to operational requirements.

Monitor vehicle movement and delivery schedules.

Coordinate with drivers, transporters, warehouses, and internal teams.

Track fuel consumption, mileage, trips, and transportation expenses.

Maintain vehicle documents such as RC, insurance, permits, fitness certificates and PUC.

Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs and breakdowns.

Follow up on delayed deliveries and transportation issues.

Maintain trip sheets, delivery records and other transport documents.

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly transport and MIS reports.

Monitor driver attendance, availability and schedules.

Ensure compliance with company safety and transportation procedures.

Required Skills

Good communication and coordination skills

Knowledge of vehicle/fleet operations

Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance

Good MS Excel and computer skills

Strong follow-up and problem-solving ability

Good record-keeping and organizational skills

Ability to handle multiple vehicles and drivers

Qualification & Experience

Qualification: Graduate/Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Operations or a related field preferred.

Experience: 1–3 years preferred; practical experience in transport/fleet operations can also be considered.
